When I arrived in Minneapolis for an artist’s residency at Minnesota Center for Book Arts, I hit the streets with my camera asking strangers for their photos and conversation. These photos I translated into pressure prints. The conversation, revolving around ideas about community, diversity and connection inspired my self-written text. Together the image and text became a book that honors my hometown, its diverse and dynamic community and speaks to our value as individuals and as part of the whole.
